When we bought our house, the previous owner had planted pothos plants around an oak tree. They are usually potted plants with small heart-shaped leaves and since being planted in the ground they have grown much larger in size and are taking over the tree. What do you recommend?
Pothos is normally grown as a hanging house plant or vine. If it has started to grow around the base of your tree it will cover it and start to reduce the transpiration through the bark. This will effect the health of the tree. If you want to keep the pothos as well as the tree just keep it from vining up the trunk by trimming it back. This will keep the tree healthy and give you a boarder around the base of your tree.
